**What’s the role?**

As a member of the QA Automation team, you will report directly to the Head of Automation and play a pivotal role in executing the QA Automation Strategy across various domains within NewsCorp Australia’s Technology, Digital & Data sectors. This role is ideal for engineers who are in the early stages of their careers, providing them with the chance to contribute to a growing and centralised Automation Practice team. The team is focused on expanding the automation footprint to achieve a high level of maturity across multiple platform teams, ensuring that automation processes are seamlessly integrated and optimised.

Your responsibilities will include assisting in the design and implementation of automation processes and maintaining existing automation systems to validate code changes, boosting productivity and quality. The role is split with 80% automation tasks and 20% manual testing, ensuring that both automated and manual testing methods are utilised to achieve comprehensive validation and quality assurance. This exposure will provide valuable insights and experience in the latest advancements within the industry.

**Responsibilities**

+ Developing and executing automated test cases

+ Gathering reporting metrics for the Automation Manager

+ Drive an Automation 1st Policy within the team

+ Applying best practices, working with the broader team to deliver on roadmap milestones.

+ Help set up production automation and automated reporting to stakeholders.

+ Identify opportunities for improvement, including open source tooling and resource optimisation.

+ Supporting AI Automation Proof of Concept Exploration

**Who are you?**

+ You have a graduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

+ You have been working in a QA automation team as a grad or entry level automation engineer and are ready to move to the next level.

+ 1 – 2 years hands-on experience in an automation engineering role, with exposure to automation processes, using tools like GitHub, Playwright and Appium and languages such as Python and/or Typescript

+ You are familiar with automated regression and progression tests across digital platforms

+ You are eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

+ You are committed to quality and innovation, with a keen interest in continuous improvement
